Referee Evaluation Process and Publication Policy

It uses the double-blind method in the evaluation process of all studies submitted to the JABS In the double-blind method, the authors 'and referees' identities are hidden.

Initial Evaluation Process

The works submitted to the JABS are primarily evaluated by the editor. At this stage, studies which do not comply with the aim and scope of the journal and which are weak in terms of language and narrative rules in  English will be rejected. Also submitted articles which have no original value and do not meet the publication policies are rejected. The authors of the rejected works shall be informed within two weeks at the latest from the date of submission. The studies found appropriate are sent to a Departmental editor for the field of study for which the study is relevant.

Preliminary Evaluation Process

The department editors who are specialized in the study submitted in the pre-evaluation process examine the introduction, material and method, findings, results, evaluation and discussion sections of the studies in detail in terms of the aim and scopes of the journal publication policies. As a result of this review, the studies which are not suitable will be returned to the department editor within four weeks at the latest with the evaluation report.

Referee Assignment Process

The works are sent to the referees according to the content and the fields of expertise of the referees. The section editor examining the study proposes at least two referees from the referee pool according to their field of expertise or may propose a new referee who is suitable for the field of study. Judges' suggestions from the section editor are evaluated by the editors and the studies are sent to the referees. The referees must guarantee that they will not share any information and document about the submitted articles.

Referee Evaluation Process

The period given to the referees for the peer review process is 4 weeks. The correction proposals from the referees or editors must be completed by the authors within 1 month. The referees may decide on their suitability by reviewing the corrections of a study and may request correction more than once if it is necessary.

Evaluation Result

The opinions of the referees are examined by the section editor within 2 weeks at the latest. As a result of this review, the section editor submits its final decision to the editor.

Editorial Board Decision

The editor prepares the editorial board report based on the opinions of section editor and reviewer reports. The opinions prepared by the editor are sent to the author (s) within 1 week together section editor and referee suggestions. In this process, rejected studies are returned without requesting a plagiarism audit.

Plagiarism Policy

Authors should ensure the originality of their contents, while preparing a manuscript draft. In case the authors have used the work and/or words of others this must be appropriately cited or quoted. All the articles submitted to JABS shall be screened for plagiarism using iThenticate (online plagiarism detection software). In case, plagiarism is detected during review/editorial process, such manuscript(s) will be rejected immediately. If the plagiarism is proven after publication, such manuscript(s) will be retracted from the journal and appropriate announcement will be placed in this regards. We can also consider appropriate action against authors depending upon the seriousness of the case. It includes;

  1. Debarring the authors from publication in future.
  2. We can bring such instants in notice of author's funding agencies, author's institutes (where they works) and to the original authors whose work has been plagiarized.

 

Ethical Issues

The editors expect that materials described inthe Anatolian Science Academy journals will be made available to all qualified members of the scientific community. Papers describing experimental work with humans and animals must include a statement that the Ethical Committee of the institution in which the work was done has approved it.

 It is assumed all authors have approved the submitted manuscript, which is the responsibility of the corresponding author. If accepted, the article must not be published elsewhere in any form, without the consent of the editors and publisher. The articles published in the Anatolian Science Academy International Journals solely represent the scientific findings and opinions of the authors. Even though the editors and publisher make every effort to ensure the accuracy of all published matter, they can accept no responsibility or liability, collectively or individually, for any erroneous, misleading or unintentionally damaging statements, which may appear in the journal.
